Synopsis

France never had a chance!

A group of rambunctious toddlers travel a trip to Paris. As they journey from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame, they learn new lessons about trust, loyalty and love.

Ugh. I love French Film. Wish I could give it 10 stars.

  • Review by Conor Murnane #LeakCoyoteVsAcme ★★★★ 1

I like to think the filmmakers seriously had their hearts set on simply having the babies go to Japan, but, try as they might, they just couldn't think any landmarks famous enough for Spike to piss on.

Without a doubt my favourite Michelangelo Antonioni film. The experimental editing techniques, surrealism and unconventional structure create an immersive, dreamlike experience. At points Rugrats in Paris is extremely difficult to watch due to scenes dealing with existential despair, grief and personal turmoil. It reminded me a lot of Charlie Kaufman's Synecdoche, New York in that regard. Except I think this is even better than that film.

Reading the mixed reviews of this film was truly disheartening. It really shows how great art often goes underappreciated by the masses. This is why we don't get great cinema anymore. Thanks to you uncultured swines. Cinema came close to reaching its former glory with Rugrats, Go Wild in 2003. Though it was no where near as good as Michelangelo Antonioni's masterpiece Rugrats in Paris. This is a must see if you're a fan of high quality cinema and if you want a challenging experience.

    Wow, I’m a f*cking idiot lol.
I never not liked this, I want to be clear. But at the same time, I always felt like people praised it a little too high, since I always really liked that first one. And while I still think I like the first one more, it’s not by as much as I thought. This movie is soooo pretty, it’s wholesome, it’s funnier than I remember. That last act is a trip, a real “how did we get here??” situation, but it results in that relentlessly great character moment with Chuckie.
Still, tho. Euroreptarland is kind of a hat on a hat. They could’ve just went to Japan lol.
