Brand new attractions are hitting the beach this spring. Each year several new businesses open to offer visitors varied experiences every time they visit. They are in different areas throughout the city, some are chains that have come from other places, while others are renovations to existing attractions to make them bigger and better than ever. You can try all these attractions during your next trip to the beach!

1. PopStroke
New to Broadway at the Beach is a golf attraction called PopStroke. Located next to ‘The Hangout’, PopStroke has two 18-hole putt courses that are made to resemble an actual golf course. It has fairways, little ponds, and unique holes to play along the way. However, like miniature golf, anyone of any age can play. While you play, you can also indulge in different meals or drinks from the on-site restaurant. Additionally, PopStroke has a jumbotron, playground, and games if you want to book a special event for a large party or a celebration. The establishment doesn’t accept reservations. It’s $30 for all-day play from March 1st until October 15th and $25 for all-day play from October 16th until February 28th and will open in March of 2024.
2. Surfside Pier
The Surfside Pier is finally back for the spring of 2024! The pier, which was destroyed in 2016 due to Hurricane Matthew, has been through years of renovations. It is now completed with a new look and features to accommodate people and the local sea life. There are now cement holdings in the pier instead of only wood, so it is guaranteed to stay sturdy for decades to come. The businesses on the pier will be The Surf Diner which was there before the storm, a bait and tackle store, Drippy’s Homemade Ice Cream, and one other food and beverage establishment. Admission is free to walk the pier, but if you want to fish, there will be fees. Alcohol from businesses on the pier will be allowed for consumption, however, the alcohol cannot leave the pier nor can outside alcohol be brought onto the pier. Surfside Pier will be open starting from April of 2024 from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. daily.

3. Hickey’s InterActive Adventure
VR experiences, laser tag, escape rooms, interactive stations, and more, can all be found in one place – Hickey’s! Opening in the spring of 2024, this establishment houses more than five attractions in one space, so you can try everything without driving back and forth. Hickey’s aims to bring both learning and excitement together through various activities and is designed for the entire family. Some scenarios blend fake and reality, there’s a 5,000-square-foot indoor playground and learning space for young children and an adventure to embark on where you can discover surprises as you walk between different dimensions. Hickey’s is located on North Kings Highway next to Blueberry’s Grill.
4. Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre
Myrtle Beach country star Greg Rowles has a theatre opening in April of 2024 to not only leave his legacy but also those of his parents, Lewis and Alice. After working at the Alabama Theater for 22 seasons, Rowles has started a new endeavor. The theatre will have shows and performances by ensembles, comedians, musicians, and performers who practice magic and illusions. The theatre claims that no night will be alike, so visitors can come back as often as possible to witness new content. Events, showtimes, and prices can be found on the website's calendar. The theatre will be at 701 Main Street, North Myrtle Beach.

5. Myrtle Waves Water Park
A family favorite that’s been around for years is Myrtle Waves. This waterpark has been voted as one of the top 11 waterparks in the country and has become a tradition for many visitors. To make this park more exciting than it already was, Myrtle Waves is introducing a new slide in May of 2024. The slide called ‘Wild Water Races’ will be a mat slide that allows four people to race against each other to the bottom. It is the first mat-based slide that Myrtle Waves has had. This water slide was acquired from Wild Water and Wheels, a former waterpark that was in Surfside Beach. Myrtle Waves will open again for the season in May.

6. Paddle Pub Myrtle Beach
If you’ve always been the kind of person to drink in style, then Paddle Pub will be your new favorite thing. Myrtle Beach brought a 26-person pedal-powered pontoon boat to the area where you can share a drink while getting in a little exercise with friends. The venture which opened in June of 2023, is a bring-your-own-drink event, however, there are drinks sold once on board the boat. The Paddle Pub can be rented out for two hours at a time, and you can book individual seats, or if you have a party, you can rent out the whole thing just for your party. Those under 21 can also board, they will just be marked so the captain knows they are underage. Those under 18 will have to have a parent or legal guardian sign a liability waiver. 7. Tiki Tours of Myrtle Beach
One way to discover the Intracoastal Waterway that flows between the beaches is with a Tiki Tour. You can take part in this 18-seater boat ride while enjoying the views of the water and spending quality time with friends or family. It’s said to be Myrtle’s premier party boat and it includes a captain, lots of cooler space, a Bluetooth speaker system, and USB charging ports. It’s also a bring-your-own-drink excursion with no hard liquor allowed. Here everyone gets a spot at the long table running up the middle of the boat and can stand under the tiki hut to catch some shade when the sunny rays come out. The party boat has a two-hour minimum and prices vary depending on the day.
