The Oron intelligence-gathering aircraft quickly became operational during Israel’s war on Hamas and has already carried out hundreds of operational flight hours and almost 100 sorties, according to the Israel Ministry of Defense (MoD). The aircraft was developed jointly by the Israel Ministry of Defense’s research and development arm, Israeli Aerospace Industry’s Elta subsidiary, the Israel Air Force, Intelligence Corps and the Navy. Northrop Grumman and Taiwanese aerospace company Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) have officially announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the reconnaissance, search, and early warning capabilities of Taiwan’s E-2K Hawkeye airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft fleet. The Republic of China Air Force (RoCAF) faces the imperative task of bolstering its capabilities to counter the growing obsolescence of the E-2K fleet, a critical component in safeguarding Taiwan’s airspace. The E-2K fleet plays a pivotal role in Taiwan’s aerial surveillance and command-and-control functions, effectively monitoring airspace and identifying potential threats. Recognizing the aircraft’s indispensable role in maintaining national security, AIDC and Northrop Grumman have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore potential upgrade plans. Computation, communications, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting. This Is the purpose of the Compass Call. Through software-defined radios and an open architecture, counter-C5ISRT operations will be improved in future mission system modernization initiatives, aiming to address developing threats more quickly.

Sierra Nevada's RAPCON-X Selected for Army's ATHENA-S ISR ProjectSierra Nevada Corp. has been awarded a $554 million contract to provide the U.S. Army with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and related services. The company's RAPCON-X, converted Bombardier business jets, was selected for the Army's Theater Level High Altitude Expeditionary Next Airborne ISR-Signals Intelligence (ATHENA-S) project.The multi-year contract is part of the Army's ongoing effort to modernize its aerial spying and targeting capabilities. The RAPCON-X is capable of cuing in on electronic transmissions and collecting target signatures on the ground. The Israeli Navy’s C-Dome air defense system, a variant of the renowned Iron Dome, has achieved its inaugural operational intercept. Deployed aboard an Israeli Navy Sa’ar 6 missile corvette navigating the waters of the Red Sea, the system successfully intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle detected flying towards Eilat, a prominent Israeli city on the Red Sea coastline. Developed by Rafael, in conjunction with the Israeli company mPrest for its command-and-control infrastructure, the C-Dome system represents a formidable addition to Israel’s defense arsenal. Integrated with the Sa’ar 6 corvette’s ‘Adir’ radar, engineered by IAI’s ELTA division, it bolsters the nation’s multi-tiered missile defense network alongside systems like Arrow and David’s Sling.The Sa’ar 6 corvettes, purposefully designed to host a combination of air defense systems, including Barak-8 alongside C-Dome, offer versatility in response to varying threat levels.In some scenarios, both interceptors will be launched, underscoring the adaptable nature of the naval defense strategy.
